Blue Desert Mist
This modest-sized cactus grows up to 18 feet tall. It is slow growing, taking 40 years to reach maturity. Once mature, produces a handful of vibrant light blue flowers with a light pink gradient shift on the edges of the petals. The petals are long and thin. The skin of this cactus is dark green.It produces a thin dark blue sap.
At night, the flowers and sap glow a bright blue. This is where the name of the cactus comes from. From a distance at night, it looks like a glowing blue mist.
This cactus is fairly rare, but occassionally grows in large patches, giving off a very vibrant blue glow in the horizon.
The cactus is seeked out for the incredible medicinal value of its sap, which can be consumed to help with both pain and sickness as well as slathered on wounds to assist in healing.
