Dragonscale fruit

This fruit comes from the Dragonscale tree. Each tree only produces five fruits every 20 years. The fruits come in red, green, or yellow varieties. The are small, only about 3-4 inches in diameter. Their skin is thick and spiky. The edible interior is a soft black ball.

They are considered a delicacy due to their flavor and rarity. They have a sweet flavor with a slight spicyness. They are eaten by removing the thick skin and popping the soft edible ball into your mouth, spitting out the small seed.

The spikes are stiff and sharrp, so the fruit must be handled with care.
