Spotted Willow leaves and flowers

The flowers of this tree are tiny, purple, and abundant.They appear in early spring. The have two layers of oval-shaped petals. These flowers smell very sweet, some may say sickeningly sweet, when the tree is in full bloom.

The leaves of this tree are also small and abundant. They are light blue in color and they are smooth and shiny. They trail downwards towards the ground and are shaped like tears, giving the tree its second name, "Tears of the Forest".
